Jamil Sheriff is a principal lecturer at Leeds College of Music where he coordinates the musicianship program and lectures in jazz piano and composition.

Described in the Times as “Excellent northern pianist who brings together a range of classic, contemporary and urban approaches”, Jamil has received international acclaim for writing and performing with his own ensemble, The Jamil Sheriff Octet. More recently Jamil has recorded original works with his quartet and big band, both of which will be released soon.
